Mason Bowling (he/him/his)
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas. My first introduction to live theatre was The Music Man, music directed by my mom, Vonda K. Bowling, and my older brother as Winthrop. I was meant to dawn my own three-year-old-sized marching band costume and join the rest of the child ensemble at the end of the show, though I refused. It wouldn’t be until two years later that I would step on the stage in Honk!
Growing up, my parents founded a summer theatre camp for children ages 6-18, Dallas Young Artists (DYA). Lucky for me, I got to start a year early as a duckling in Honk! I spent every summer at DYA surrounded by kids my age who loved theatre just as much as I did. If it weren’t for DYA and my heavily theatrical and musically inclined parents, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Today, I am a Texas-based actor, currently located in Corpus Christi getting my BA in Theatre with a concentration in Acting/Directing from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. When I’m not in school, I am still surrounded by theatre. I love to support the local Corpus Christi theatre, as well as audition when my school schedule allows. I still return to DYA each summer not as a camper but as the assistant director. Apart from theatre, I love to spend time with my friends on the beach, listen to and discover new music, and thrift at the local shops (ask me about my vintage clothes!).
